The Keys to a Successful Family Living
Having a family is never easy but if you know how to respect each other, practice self-discipline and even having open lines of communication with one another then everything will go smoothly. When a person wants to live peacefully with their family, this doesn’t mean they are giving everybody in the family a silent treatment. By peaceful living it means living a family life that practice respect for individual differences, knowing when is the right time to interfere with personal issues of other members in the family and of course effective communication.
1. Practice Utmost Respect to Everyone
In a family, it is vital that everyone will feel respected and that their actions are highly appreciated. It is also vital that you respect each member’s ideas and even their personal belongings. For example, if there is anybody in your family who is feeling sad then you must not ignore it. Ask them what’s going on and the reasons why they are having such gloomy face. You are not really oblige to fix it for them, just your mere presence and a shoulder to lean on would be enough.
Another way of showing respect is to be courteous in what you do. Even those simple thank you and please is already a sign of being polite. Another thing is asking how was their day is another thing.
Keep in mind that being respectful of one’s ideas doesn’t mean you will always nod your head and agree with them. People have their own thoughts on something and so it is vital to share yours too. There might be moments that you feel so happy with the line of thinking that your kids have but there would also be times that their thoughts are just not appropriate. Sometimes what they really need is guidance and the wisdom of adults who have longer experience whenever their ideas are not that really good after all experience is the best teacher. Children have a different perspective. If you are able to listen to what they are really thinking you’ll be surprise how wonderful it is and you can even learn something from it. You can also explain why a certain idea won’t work and just let them try their ideas so long as it won’t put them in grave danger.
Seemingly, many people seemed to forget age when they talk to a person older than them or younger than them thus it is really important to practice respect for one another within the family. The probable reason why some people don’t like to listen to what person has to say is that they feel like they don’t have any vital thing to say or frustrations creeping into them. At this point, those people has their entire lifetime to learn things and understand the essence of respect.
